Katherine Lindholm-Lane Arizona Dance Educator of the Year
In the spirit of Katherine Lindholm Lane and her dedication and contributions to Dance Education in Arizona the “Arizona Dance Educator of the Year” has been established by AzDEO an affiliate of the National Dance Education Organizatio and will be selected yearly. A perpetual plaque will be temporarily housed at the recipient’s school until the next honoree has been named.
Criteria for selecting the “Arizona Dance Educator of the Year
Professional Dance Educator
Demonstrates support for and contributes to the larger dance education community.
Inspires students and colleagues through example, enthusiasm and encouragement.
Advocates for quality dance education and the arts
Requirements and process for submission
This award is open to all members and non-members of AzDEO.
The AzDEO Recognition Committee will make nominations based on their knowledge of outstanding educators. Educators are encouraged to make a request to the committee, you may send email from website contact form. The nominees will be notified of this honor, and will then need to provide the following in order for the nomination to be complete:
A one page essay must be written by three individuals representing the following areas:
A colleague or dance educator
An administrator, parent or community volunteer
A former or current student
A mentor or professor (current or former)
The nominee will then complete the process by compiling and mailing the following:
Nominations Cover Sheet and contact information
Three reference essays
A teaching resume/history of the nominated teacher
All submissions are due to the AzDEO Recognition Committee by January 30th!

NOTE: Recipients of the KLL Award must wait 5 years before being nominated for the Bill Evans Award.
