Criteria for selecting the “Arizona Dance Educator of the Year

• Professional Dance Educator

• Demonstrates support for and contributes to the larger dance education community.

• Inspires students and colleagues through example, enthusiasm and encouragement.

• Advocates for quality dance education and the arts

Requirements and process for submission

A one page essay must be written by three individuals representing the following categories:

1. A colleague or dance educator

2. An administrator, parent or community volunteer

3. A former or current student

4. A mentor or professor (current or former)

One individual will then complete the process by compiling and mailing the following:

• Nomination Cover Sheet and contact information

• Three reference essays

• A teaching resume/history of the nominated teacher

Submission and Selection Timeline

• Deadline for submissions is January 30, 2010

• Deadline for copies of the reference letters to the selection committee for review is January 30, 2010

• Awards will be announced at the State High School Dance Festival
